Araw ng Dabaw parade

I only read this from San Star Davao. It is about the parade of Davao City. I read this one DAVAO City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio described Monday this year's Araw ng Dabaw celebration as the most successful in the history of the city.

In her weekly press briefing at her office, Duterte-Carpio told reporters that a week after the peak of the city's 75th founding anniversary's celebration, the organizers were successful in carrying out their individual tasks.

Citing the "Parada Dabawenyo" as her point of reference, Duterte-Carpio said this year's Araw ng Dabaw is indeed the best and the grandest as compared to previous Araw ng Dabaw celebrations.

The Parada Dabawenyo on March 16 was one of the highlights of the celebration, gathering the most number of contingents in the history of the annual festival. A total of 284 participants from private companies, including educational institutions, and various groups participated during the civic-military parade that was also joined by employees of both the national and local government agencies.

This year's participating companies surpassed last year's number of contingents placed at 250.

In organizing this year's Araw ng Dabaw, the City has partnered with various private groups, including the Duaw Dabaw Festival Foundation Inc., Davao City Chinatown Development Council, and Davao City Association of Travel and Tours Operators, among others.

SAN ISIDRO de LABRADOR CHURCH

Before San Isidro Parish was created, the Diocese of Digos had only one church which is the Mary Mediatrix Church. Due to the increase of the population of people in Digos, they decided to create another church which is San Isidro Church.

The construction started on June 1980 through the initiative of the first Canadian Parish Priest named Father Claude Dumont in a form of Bayanihan System. Parishioners offered their services for free. Some donated construction materials, money, foods, and snacks for the workers. Major contribution for the completion of the church came from a foreign assistance and some big politicians like former Senator Alejandro Almendras Sr. and businessmen. For a period of almost two years the dreamed church was completed. It is as big as the Mary Mediatrix Church and has five masses every Sunday. It is located at the south part of Digos particularly along Rizal Avenue and Aurora Streets.
